My mom went to the ER yesterday, but she is okay

Yesterday after my mom and I had lunch she told me she felt like her heart was racing. I felt her pulse and her heart was beating irregulary. I told her she needed to go the the ER. Once we got there they took a 12 lead ECG and saw that her heart was beating pretty funny. They put in an IV and took some bloodwork and hooked her up to the cardiac monitor. They wanted to make sure she hadn't had a heart attack (MI, myocardial infarction). Her heart continued to act funny. It would beat normally but fast then it would go into ventricular trigeminy (2 regular beats and one PVC) then ventricular bigeminy (one regular beat then one PVC) and then there would be times that it wouldn't have a regular pattern of PVCs (premature ventricular contractions). The ventricular trigeminy looked something like this:

She stayed there for about 8 hours while they made sure that her cardiac enzymes didn't show any signs of a heart attack. She will have to see a cardiologist for more tests. They plan to do a persantine thallium stress test, a holter monitor and an echocardiogram.
